PDA's....a do or a don't?
I was fulfilling my trashy magazine fix this week, and there were more than a few photos of celebrity couples engaged in what I would deem extreme public displays of affection. I mean, is it really necessary to literally kiss your significant other's behind on the beach in full view of everyone? Personally, I say no.
But it isn't just celebrities who engage in over-the-top PDA's. I was in a bar with friends not too long ago, and we witnessed one couple where the girl was literally sitting on her guy's lap....forget the fact that there were about nine empty bar stools surrounding them.
I understand being completely smitten with someone and wanting to show it off...I just tend to keep my relationship private and not showcase it to the world. Sure, my BF and I hold hands, and we'll exchange the occasional kiss here or there. But I would never sit in his lap, keep my hand permanently attached to his or any part of his body or engage in a full-on make-out session with everyone watching. No thank you.
I suppose people who are into heavy PDA just don't care, but I've never been in a situation where you are surrounded by over-the-top couples and not been uncomfortable. But what do you think about PDA? Is it acceptable, or should it be toned down with others around?

I'm not gonna lie. I've been guilty of PDA (not like face vaccuuming or butt pinching but PDA in general). I am aware that it makes people uncomfortable, and try to avoid doing that, but sometimes it slips my mind! Everyone, including myself, just needs to try to remember how you would feel if roles were reversed. If you wouldn't want to someone else doing it, don't do it yourself!
PDA can sometimes be unavoidable with the person you are in love with. Mixing that love with some alcohol at the hummingbird can leave most of the local bar folk rather disgusted. Winning at darts does not require a sloppy congratulations. Further disgust follows when you realize that you have lost all your friends due to your lover's insecurities of being free from your arm for more than 5 minutes......this is the most disgusting part. Making out at the bar is one thing. Changing and losing yourself for someone....well that was my fault. Yes, and it does sound like a personal problem.
I've had my face vacuumed in public... in a very drunken state. I think alcohol throws some of those rules out the window.
Normal, sober, commonplace area PDA is just unecessary. I don't need to see you grabbing your boyfriend in the mall or sucking face in line at WalMart. It just isn't cool.
Show love, nothing more.
